The Woodwalk is complete, over and finished. The walk was a success, people were impacted and changed, awareness of what women go through just to cook was delivered on a national scale. And now, the dust has settled and I sit at my desk wondering what I should be doing with myself. 10 days of walking with 50-70 pounds of wood on my back all day is a life-changing experience to say the least.
Woodwalk – Day 9: I can taste it
Woodwalk – Day 8: Almost there
Woodwalk – Day 7: Los Angeles, we will conquer you.
Los Angeles, you are my enemy right now. Not in essence, but in distance. I’ve been walking for 7 days pounding my feet, body and the bundle of wood on my back against the pavement and feel like you’ve been teasing me in the unreachable distance. But I’m determined, we are determined to conquer you through this woodwalk in honor of those women in Kenya and all around the world. It’s been a battle and there have been days that you’ve defeated me and us, but come this Thursday you’re history.

They [...]

After an extremely long day yesterday (14.4 miles), we were able to relax at a beautiful friends home in San Clemente overlooking the ocean, having some wood fired pizza and just soaking up newfound friendships and relationships.
Woodwalk Day 5 Begins
Woodwalk – Day 4: Pick me up!
Woodwalk – Day 3: Adversity
Today was really difficult if I’m being totally honest. Dealing with the post effects of the rain yesterday, the thin woodwalking team (just me and my dad), car troubles (one breaking down and the other getting backed into) and being heckled by some confused passers by were just some of the challenges. I realized today [...]

Day 2 of the woodwalk. We missed having Elle, Jedidiah, Nika Water, Fifty and Fifty and Empower a Child with us today, but regardless of having those awesome people with us today we pressed on and picked up yet another brave soul, Darcy Bingham. Today on our woodwalk, “sunny ” San Diego wasn’t so sunny. [...]
